Blackburn Villa B&B - New procedures in place for Covid-19

After carrying out a risk assessment a number of changes have been made throughout the B&B.  Although certain things will be done differently now, I’m sure you will still have a relaxing and enjoyable stay at Blackburn Villa.

Registration Forms

Registration Forms will be emailed to you to complete before arrival.

General

If you begin to feel unwell or show any symptoms of Covid-19 before your stay, please either amend or cancel your booking.  If you start to develop Covid-19 symptoms during your stay, you should notify me as soon as possible by phone (01292 288557 or 07717 870658).  Avoid contact with others and take steps to vacate your room and return home as soon as possible while strictly following government guidelines.  Similarly if you or any of your party develop symptoms up to 14 days after leaving the B&B, please let me know.

Some extras have been removed from the rooms (extra blankets, hairdryer, etc).  These items can be requested before arrival or at any point during your stay. An automatic hand sanitiser dispenser has been installed at the front door as well as the entrance to the dining area and on top of the fridge in the hall.  Public areas will undergo more frequent cleaning and disinfecting, particularly touch points such as handles and light switches. There are three handsanitisers in the B&B, one at the front door, one on top of the fridge and one at the entance to the dining area. Please make use of these.

Breakfast

The dining area is now once again in use.  Orders are made the night before, either by ordering online (link will be emailed or sent by text message) or by completing a paper copy.

Housekeeping

Daily housekeeping has now been resumed.  The room must be vacated before housekeeping is carried out. Fresh towels and/or bedding may be requested at any time during your stay. There are 3 recycling bins under the table in the hall and I and the environment would appreciate if you made use of these. Clean cups and glasses are available in the hallway. Used items should be placed on the tray on the table opposite the fridge. End of stay/pre arrival housekeeping will be in line with government guidelines and will constantly be reviewed and updated as the advice changes.

Departure and Payment

Unless otherwise agreed in advance payment will be taken on the day of check in from the credit/debit card used at the time of booking. Please let me know when you are leaving, and leave the keys inside the room.

Eating Out

Updated 17 April 2022

At the current time restaurants, cafes and bars are operating as normal and from 18 April the wearing of face masks is no longer required by law.

There are many hotels within 5-15 minutes’ walk which have beer gardens so as long as the weather holds you should be able to enjoy a drink and/or meal outside.  Please refer to the digital Guidebook for more information. I will also be allowing guests to order in take away food to consume in the B&B. There is also a fridge in the hall for guests’ use and also an ice machine.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or concerns.

Looking forward to hosting you!
